WOW!! We are doing our happy dance out here…. We helped Glen this morning getting the last buckets full out of what will hopefully be our footer….. Just enough to let it dry for the day while we take a break from work and go exploring….

We had a great day exploring – it is just so exciting and beautiful here.. Every morning we see new tracks in what will be our front yard – either deer or elk venturing in while we are sound asleep in the wall tent – snug as bugs in a rug….. Glen keeps the fire going and contrary to what most of you think – this home (tent) is dry, warm and cozy…. It is a canvas wall tent with a small wood stove, but we each have a cot, the floor is covered up to the stove with a double layer of white plastic which I sweep off and polish up every night thanks to the lovely new layers of mud we track in every day… 🙂 It is so much fun…

My friends will love this the most…. Those that totally wouldn't be caught dead doing this…. On occasion when I leave the outhouse I turn to flush… 🙂 heheheh and when we go out it is big doin's and quite funny when you remember what it is really like to flush and wash your hands with soap vs a baby wipe…. I am truly enjoying the simple life though – it really made me chuckle the other day while out using the facilities elsewhere. I will continue to give up the day to day things for this beautiful life style… Although it has been muddy it is a wild and crazy blessing to be out here like this…

Going to bed listening to the coyote howling like crazy sometimes as close as 500 yards… Being on the warm trail of an elk while hiking and then catching a glimpse…

Watching a snow owl from 150 yards sunning himself today while out hiking…. He gave us a good “look see” – got some really great pics and just the experience….. Didn't think they even came out during the day and then to see more than one and to see them take flight – their wing span is awesome….

Deer snorting behind you and elk breaking through the forest in front of you… May I just say WAAAAHOOOOO and then to watch Austin getting as excited as I am and watching Glen just getting a kick out of us…. Lots of fawns to see these days too…..
