Hebrews 1:11 “Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:6 “But without Faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by Faith, and not by sight”
What does it actually mean to walk by faith? Walking by faith is choosing to believe in something that you can’t see just as you know that there is air that we breath without physically seeing it. Faith is not physically seeing God, but having eyes open to seeing his hand at work and knowing he is there.
Is walking by faith easy? No. Some will choose not to do it because it is too hard to comprehend and trust something unseen. As human beings we often require concrete things to allow us to believe and we also want to control everything.
Well the key to “Walking by Faith” is to give up the control and handing over the keys and let God drive. Many people will start the process, but they continue to grab the wheel. Now imagine if you were driving down the road and suddenly someone were to grab the wheel. The outcome would not be good and nor is it good when you try to do the same to God.
When you are finally able to let go of the wheel and fully let God drive, the ride is INCREDIBLE! I can honestly say that I have learned to do this. Do I slip up and still want the wheel sometimes? Yes, but the more FAITHFUL you become the more amazing life will become. As I feel myself slipping up and getting ready to grab the wheel I catch myself because I don’t want to cause a wreck. This wreck would not be in an automobile, but in my life. Every time we grab the wheel we slow ourselves from receiving God’s full and miraculous grace.
We all have struggles and life is not meant to be easy, but we are promised he will take care of us if we are FAITHFUL followers of himself and his word.
Be FAITHFUL and give up the keys. Allow God to drive your life and experience his full hand of grace on you and your family. Watch and see how your horizons change in a glorious way.
God bless! ♥
Thank you, love this! It reminded me of a song:
“Jesus, take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can’t do this on my own
I’m letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I’m on
Jesus, take the wheel”
Carrie Underwood – Jesus, Take The Wheel
Anna that is one of my favorite songs… God inspires me everyday and when you find out how much simpler life is when you are willing to let the BIG man upstairs drive and lead the way – life’s blessings are so much easier to see!! Thanks for taking the time to read my post… Blessings lovely lady!! <3
Thank you for this reminder….I happen to be a control freak, and often get in the way of letting God…
You are most welcome and thank you for taking the time to read my post!! We all struggle with trying to take control of the wheel again once we have relinquished it… I believe it is human nature, but just like with any habit we form – we can learn to let go and see what he has in store for the ride… This takes LOTS of daily practice… I am still working on forming that new habit… 🙂 Blessings my dear…. <3
