I am so NOT a shopper. I love the peace of my home and really do not have the desire to go out much, but when I have to run errands one thing I thoroughly enjoy is hitting the thrift stores, Goodwill, a yard sale or an antique store. Now that is my kind of shopping!!
I find such wonderful treasures that way and it is such a Simple Pleasure to come home with a $.50 find that is incredibly useful or was something we needed. That is one thing about shopping for me, if I do not have a use for it or I truly do not need it, no matter what the cost I do not purchase it. Frugal living is being happy with what you have and only getting what you need in my eyes.
I had the privilege to go out for a bit with the Mountain Boy when we took my parents back to the airport a couple of Friday's ago and on our way home we stopped in at both a SalvAion Army and an antique store.
Although we did not find anything in the antique store, we got pretty lucky at the Salvation Army. The Mountain Boy found a book (he is our reader rabbit – he just LOVES to read) and he found some hooks that would work great with his paracord products and I was so very blessed to find some old metal measuring cups for a few cents (these work great in my 5 gallon buckets of bulk dried goods for easy scooping),but my big find was a beautifully hand made pottery bowl for $6.50.
I have been looking for an antique wooden bread bowl which I have actually decided to make two of my own real soon hear, but this pottery bowl is jut that size and just perfect. I could not have purchased a mixing bowl for that cost so I was super excited and the ladies behind the counter were drooling because they hAdn't seen my treasure until I brought it to the counter! 🙂
Now we have such good news to share and I am so excited!

You and I are VERY much alike. I’m not a big shopper but I love going to garage sales, thrift stores, Goodwill etc. I call it a treasure hunt.
I love your bowl. That’s a great find. And congrats on your feature for your blog. Your family sounds great. I’ll have to send my hubby to your hubby’s site.
Thanks for sharing your good news.
Kim
