June 23rd, 2017: In today’s show I talk to you about the great treasures you can find this time of year yardsaling! Last year I was blessed to get an Excalibur Dehydrator ($300.00 price tag new) for a mere $20.00! It was like brand new and I have already gotten my monies worth out of it and then some!

So I’m only slightly envious of your dehydrator find, but happy for you as well. (Okay, call me Kermit, I’m greeeeeen with envy!) I have one of those little old round ones, but it was free to me so I’m very thankful. I have been looking in each room to see what plastic items there are so it can go away~ replacing what’s actually needed with as you said with the old/antique version.
Have a great afternoon.
Yes Lady Locust it was quite the find and I would be envious too if the tables were turned. It is SO wonderful when you can find such treasures.. We feel that traditional skills and equipment are essential tools right now with our uncertain future. Glad to have you joining us sweet friend. Blessings to you and yours!
I know you find treasures at yard sales and farm auctions also.I had found a old wooden hand wash machine with a agitator that still works.LOL LMAO the other half would end being stronger than I want her to be.No wonder back in the day women were so strong.chucklesWe also have ol’ wringer washer that still works. And a lot of things don’t require power to work.Meat slicers, also I stup a clothes line for her to hang things.I know We both love yard sales or garage sales auction sales too.You find things that nobody knows what they are selling or throwing away.
Gord that is awesome! And so true, I LOVE finding things that people clearly don’t know what they have. I purchase my Arcade cast iron and glass wall hung coffee grinder on ebay for $21.00 and the picture was of the item hung upside down so I knew they didn’t know what they had…. I would LOVE to have your wringer washing machines! We have the pulley wash line hung outside and have the wash board just in case we need it… We too have meat grinders, slicers, etc all hand crank which you are right make us ladies much stronger… I love getting a workout while doing my chores… Thanks for sharing my friend… Blessings to you and yours and happy treasure finding!
