Ok… This post is care of Carolyn… Thanks for pointing this out to me…
Carolyn brought it to my attention that our building looked rather industrial and she was wondering if this was our house or our garage… Well… It is our shop and home so from now on in all my future posts where I reference our house it will be referred to as our Shouse…..
Shouse being our Shop & House kinda like brunch being breakfast and lunch…
The building you are seeing in the pics is our house and we will be adding windows… 🙂 Carolyn too was concerned because I don’t do good living like a mushroom – I am very solar powered and need sunlight.
The downstairs of our home will be our utility room for our electrical, solar and water. The downstairs will also house Glen’s shop and the garage.
UPSTAIRS: I am so excited… Will be our living quarters which were much thought out by Glen who also keeps adding such amazing finishing touches. We will have a cathedral ceiling in the kitchen and living room which are open to one another an open space in between them and the bedroom area where we will have the master bedroom and a guest bedroom which will be Austin’s room for a while because his bedroom will be up in the loft that will come a bit later. In the loft will also be my office and the man cave. The bathroom which will be nice sized as are the other rooms, but will have a laundry room within and will be well organized. We will have a lot of beams showing and our walls to start with will be rubber… No really though they will be plasticed to keep us away from the insulation and will then be made to look of a log cabin and from the floor up to the chair rail will be stone. It will be very warm, attractive, cozy, cabinlike and inviting…. Off the back of the house will also be a deck next year looking down into our little hollow…
So from now on we will be referring to our home as a SHOUSE..
Oh by the way I am also flame powered – there is nothing better than the warmth of a fire and a good cup of coffee. This is a picture of a woodstove that was gifted to us to use until Glen gets a chance to build our wood stove which will also have an oven off the side to allow me to bake breads and our dinner throughout the day.. YUMMMMMM!! Imagine the wonderful smells going thru the house while baking sticky buns….
