Today's early morning thoughts…
I am currently reading “7” by Jen Hatmaker. I am thoroughly enjoying reading her book. Her writing is such a unique style and it is a funny read and quite addicting…
This morning I read over Day 4 and was touched by the sentiments she chose to end the days writings…
“The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was:
‘If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?'
But the good Samaritan reversed the question:
‘If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?'”
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
My husband and I have recently experienced some heavy divine intervention. It is God intervening and talking to your heart. It has been an awing experience and one we are very excited about. Seeing God's hand at work and feeling those incredible nudges to do what is right and helpful to others is truly an amazing feeling. It is a choice to embrace or ignore your feelings and you can make the choice to act out a “Random Acts of Kindness” as I mentioned this month or pass it by. There are so many many opportunities to reach out to people around you.
So many of us see opportunities and talk ourselves out of doing anything for just the reasons stated above. FEAR… Others feel they are too busy to take the time to be good to someone. The devil sits on your shoulder causing you to think twice and think yourself right out of assisting others. The thoughts shouldn't be what is in it for me or what will happen to me, but how can I better help them. We need to learn to reach out of ourselves.
I really think that the best joys I have received in this life is reaching out to others and offering them love…
Do you feel God speaking to you or working in you? No – then stop and listen – hear what he is saying to you – see what he is showing you… Now accept it… Yes – you do hear him and see what he is showing you… Then act upon it…
Truly for me, when God is guiding my heart it is impossible for me to ignore it…
Think out of yourself today…. Feel God's presence and his hand on you… Do something nice for someone today… (That could be a simple prayer for someone in need)… Your simple act could change someone's life…
Blessings….
P.S. – Share with me what you did to help someone else today..
